The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We'll talk about what brings you to therapy, your goals, background of your mental health and any questions or concerns you have. You will also be asked to fill out an intake form before the first session which we'll use to guide us in our discussion.

Sessions are 55 minutes long for individuals and 60 to 75 minutes for couples. Most clients start with weekly appointments, but we can adjust based on your needs, budget and schedule. Many clients feel comfortable moving to biweekly after initial goals are met, but this time varies depending on the client.

At this time, I offer telehealth only. I am based in Charlottesville, Virginia and am licensed to practice in the state of Virginia. This means I am able to meet with any and all people from across Virginia.

I work with individuals and couples managing a variety of issues. If you are seeking individual therapy, I can assist with issues from anxiety and ADHD to grief and low esteem. Yes, absolutely! I welcome and affirm all couples, including LGBTQ+ relationships, intercultural/interfaith dynamics, and non-traditional partnerships.

I support clients with ADHD through a mix of practical tools (like time management and organization strategies) and deeper work around shame, self-esteem, and emotional regulation. My approach is strengths-based and tailored to your unique brain and life.

Therapy helps you better understand the roots of your anxiety, recognize unhelpful thought patterns, and learn tools to calm your nervous system. We’ll also look at the beliefs and behaviors that keep anxiety going, and gently work toward new ways of coping.

I am out-of-network at this time, meaning I do not accept insurance. Our practice works on reimbursing you for sessions either through a superbill or utilizing the service provider, Mentaya. Both of these options allow you to have potential reimbursement for a portion of our sessions. Let me know if you have questions about using benefits.

I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Cancellations with less notice will be charged the equivalent of the session fee.
